Live Performance
Troubled Times, Indomitable Spirits
Duo Kashperova gave the Canadian premiere of Leocadiya Kashperova's Sonata for Piano and Cello, Op.1 No.1 as part of their fundraising concert for the Barrie Concert Association on April 26, 2026. The concert was recorded live by Ray Dillard.
Since the audio recording made in 2025, Sandra and Alyssa made many new discoveries in the piece, and feel this version is truer to the composer's original intent (although they continue to find new surprises!).
This concert also featured Margaret Bonds's “Troubled Water” and Henriette Bosmans's “Trois Impressions”, plus an encore with Amy Beach's "Berceuse".
The concert program can be read here.

Other Discoveries
Alyssa and Sandra love introducing audiences to their new discoveries. Here's their 2023 performance of “Seriously Sweet”, by Canadian composer Frank Horvat, at Collier Street United Church in Barrie, Ontario.
